Mass production of heating equipment generates healthy competition among domestic and foreign manufacturers. The rating of the best heating radiators for a city apartment and a country house to a certain extent reflects the general situation in the construction market. But the TOP-10 is not the final "verdict" when choosing. Here everyone is guided by their priority parameters.

Product selection by ratings
In any construction supermarket, heating radiators are presented in a large assortment. Although structurally they have a lot in common, they are produced from different metals, the cost of heating systems varies in different limits.
The rating of companies and manufacturing countries specializing in the production of batteries will tell you whose products to pay attention to first. Traditionally, the "Europeans" are leaders, and in the TOP 10 manufacturers:
- Global
- Kermi;
- Mirado
- Royal Thermo;
- Fondital;
- Korado;
- Nova Florida;
- Alltermo;
- Purmo;
- Radimir.
Often, the highest quality product, which cannot be offered below cost, remains aloof from the attention of the mass consumer. Low price is an important component of the product in demand, and each potential buyer is looking for the optimal price-quality ratio. Imported goods, as a rule, are all of high quality, since they pass a lot of preliminary tests before certification. However, customs duties on both sides of the borders will inevitably be added to its value, so the mark-up does not always reflect quality. It can be no worse than leading domestic manufacturers.
Belarus also offers excellent products today, it is perfectly adapted to our heating systems. This can not be said about imported models, which often have to be purchased:
- adapters;
- special adapters;
- couplings;
- branch pipes of the necessary section.
The choice of radiators by type of coolant
Today, for local heating of houses and apartments, oil heaters are used that resemble conventional batteries in shape. In the general system, oil is not used, but, in addition to water, sometimes hot steam from thermal springs and chemical “non-freezing” are used if it is a looped circuit in the house.
Important! The description of the product must indicate the type of coolant.
Multi-unit systems use warm water circulating through pipes. Ideally, this is prepared water - with an adjustable content of soil particles, iron oxides and hardness salts. At least, imported radiators are designed specifically for such a filler for centralized systems.
If you are not sure that the water in the city system is being cleaned, pay attention to the best domestic bimetal batteries. Water with a high oxygen content (not warm enough) in contact with iron inevitably gives oxide. Therefore, even the best batteries for heating an apartment during opening show a lot of rust inside (after a time). It is better to purchase a metal that does not accumulate oxides:
- aluminum;
- copper;
- cast iron;
- stainless steel.
In the European Union and the Russian Federation, the requirements for water quality are significantly different. When choosing imported batteries, this factor cannot be ignored. It is unlikely that the housing company will honestly answer about the chemical composition of water. This is what caused the search for inexpensive cast iron batteries that are resistant to pollution.
In the private sector, they often use antifreeze or the so-called “anti-freeze” filling the system. They are used only in an individual heating circuit, which is very effective at a large temperature difference. Even if the family comes to the country house only for the weekend, you can not worry about the freezing of the system and its depressurization. This happens if, during a sharp cooling, water freezes in the pipes.
Even with ordinary indicators of minus temperature in a closed circuit, fillers will not freeze:
- special antifreeze for radiators;
- ethylene glycol and propylene glycol;
- technical alcohol solutions.
The choice of radiators for urban apartments and the private sector
In their own house, they choose the best heating radiators according to an acceptable design and the number of inlet and outlet holes, which determines the installation method:
- Unilateral lateral (simple and effective), connection to the heat carrier from above and to the return from below from the side. Used in city apartments.
- Diagonal (also on the side, applicable for multi-section radiators), provides uniform distribution of the coolant from top to bottom and diagonally from the opposite side.
- Bottom connection (for hidden wiring in the floors). Their efficiency is lower, but these radiators are often purchased for the private sector.
- Saddle supply of the heat carrier (lateral variety) with inputs on opposite sides of the heater.
Important! For apartments, not only the connection method is important (we look at the number of inputs and their location), but also the workload indicated in the technical description.
Before the start of the heating season, apartments are tested with a water hammer in several atmospheres. New batteries, as a rule, cope with the load, but old pipes do not.
Regardless of the design, cast-iron models may be the best solution for an urban coolant circuit. Bimetallic (steel + aluminum) radiators proved to be excellent in country cottages. Copper is the most durable model, the price is the highest, and a specialist should deal with them. Aluminum batteries are not suitable for installation in an urban system!
To determine the thermal power, special schemes, tables and computer programs are used, where all indicators are entered. Among them, the configuration and area of the room, the number of windows, probable heat loss, etc. It is also worth considering that batteries of different shapes have different heat transfer indicators:
- tubular;
- sectional;
- panel.
The number of compartments, the total volume of the radiator, the shape of the battery and the metal in total determine the efficiency.

TOP 10 radiators among customer reviews
No matter what the ratings say, judging by customer reviews, among the aluminum devices the leaders are Rifar Alum 500, Royal Thermo Revolution 500 and Thermal RAP-500, withstanding sufficient pressure.
Recently, the most popular cast iron batteries STI Nova 500. And the TOP-10 includes steel models Kermi FTV (FKV), Purmo Compact 22 and a tubular radiator Arbonia 2180.
And among the bimetallic models, the leaders are the Rifar Monolit 500, Global STYLE PLUS 500 and Sira RS Bimetal 500, which are distinguished by high efficiency and silent operation.
Before choosing a model for an apartment or a private sector, it is important to look not only at the ratings, but also at the most important parameters indicated in the description of the heating batteries. In some cases, you need to purchase a Mayevsky crane, adapters, thermal head, bypass and other components. Some batteries can be extended, others not, and this also cannot be ignored.
